Personal Bios

Gino DiAVonti made his name in Miami and Fort Lauderdale as an Artist and Designer.

He has spent over 40 years learning various trades. Mainly along the artistic lines, many of his first trade projects included being hired for just that purpose. American Luxury Kitchens (Hallandale, FL, circa 1984) engaged him to lay the most expensive of veneers, Gino being the only one allowed to touch them. Gino created the most perfect of Butterflys from these rare woods.

Later, he was empowered by One of A Kind Wood Designs (Miami, Fl., circa 1986) to carve massive burl maplewood root systems into bold and powerful sculptures. Many of these made their way to the Miami Beach Homeshows of the time.

In 1988, Cousins' Cabinets of Ft. Lauderdale (who later became LaStrada, a huge and luxury cabinetry company, known to this day for their innovative work) retained Gino to do their artistic wood working and other artistic utilitarian endeavours. Eli and Franco Mordehay proved to be genius in their imagination of the future of design.

In 1990, he was approached while carving a slab of wood at the Miami International Homeshow. He was asked if he could carve carpet. Seeing as how he was carving fantastical beasts out of blocks of fine wood, Gino said carpet would be easy enough.

He was right, and for the next 20 to 30 years, Gino became top in the field of custom designed and carved area rugs. From intial design to the creation and carving of the rug, Gino was/is a one man show, and still known for his custom area rugs, which he creates to this day.

Today, Gino has since learned all of the flooring trades, and is expert in all things to do with this ply. From inlaid tile mosaic, to (real) hardwoods, LVT, laminate woods, laminates, ceramic tile, porcelain tile, Daltile, river rock, river stone, you name it, Gino can lay it, to perfection. Walls, floors, kitchen backsplashes, medallions, personal medallions, all can be done by Gino. And if you are looking for a Sculptor, Gino is your man.

Gino has since teamed up with his trusted and talented colleague, Jimmy Hawlley. Jimmy is excellent in his own right, being a perfectionist himself, and an imppecable member of this duo. Together they work as one, finishing whatever task at hand you present them.

Any flooring or Wall surface you can imagine, as well as drywall, custom painting and faux finishes, custom shelving and cabintery, even some handyman tasks, are all easily accomplished by Gino and Jimmy.
